Is mindset important for fitness?

Here's a few tips on how you can change your mindset...

1) Focus on your why. Why do you want to lose/ gain weight? Or build muscle or tone up? How will it make you feel? How will you look? Also, how do you currently feel? Uncomfortable? Sluggish etc? Be very specific with this and write it down. Then, when those motivation levels start to drop reread it
2) Have faith! Faith is having the audacity to have the belief in the not yet seen. Faith is your best friend when you’re scared and unmotivated. "When your faith becomes stronger than your fears then your dreams can become a reality" – Buddha.
3) Take baby steps! Have that ultimate goal but break it down to smaller goals that you can focus on throughout your journey. Unfortunately, you goal won't be achieved overnight – it'll take time! Then this can lead to us feeling demotivated and overwhelmed when we haven’t reached that goal over a short period of time. Therefore having small short goals will enable us to 1) stay on track and 2) keep us motivated throughout our journey
4) Visualise the goals you’ve set yourself. Why? It is through visualisation that you reprogram your mind to help you reach your goals. Simply spend a few minutes a day, imagining how you will look, how you will feel, then visualise yourself working out. Doing this consistently will reprogram your subconscious mind and give you an “I can do it” mindset

Remember, YOU are in control of your thoughts. Don’t let one or two negative thoughts get in the way of reaching your goal. Remember a fitness journey isn’t just a physical one, it’s a mental journey too!
